State politics are boring? Well, that’s where Roe v. Wade is under attack

Stacey Abrams is the rightful governor of Georgia. The person who stole her election just signed a heartless “heartbeat” bill into law, cruelly restricting access to reproductive freedom for women in Georgia and violating Roe v. Wade.

They know it, too. They’re violating it BY DESIGN. That’s the strategy of right-wing whackjobs in red legislatures across the country:

  • 1. Pass an unconstitutional law, knowing it’ll get tied up in litigation.
  • 2. Get it to SCOTUS.
  • 3. Count on Not Merrick Garland and Bart McRaperson O’Kavanaugh (a.k.a, two illegitimate SCOTUS justices nominated by the Shitheel in Chief) to overturn or significantly restrict Roe.
  • 4. And it’s not just Roe. It’s everything. Every bit of judicial progress we’ve had for the last two hundred years. It’s all on the line.

If you don’t care about what’s going on in your state legislature, you don’t care about yourself or your fellow Americans.

Wake up. Get down to your statehouse. Crawl up your state legislators’ asses and make their lives wholly unpleasant. Canvass for their opponents. Donate to their opponents. Make sure they know your name and make sure their staffers’ butts twitch just a little bit whenever you call.

Run for office and take their fucking jobs. That’s all they really care about anyway: their power. Find yours and take theirs.

It is really fucking hard to keep fighting, but that’s what we are called to do.

If you care about human rights and liberation and you’re not fighting these extremists in states across the nation, it’s past time to start.

If you do care, keep going. Refuse to be dragged backward without one hell of a clawing, kicking, screaming, biting fight.
